stonehurst estate house
appointment: architecture
completed 2008

A pan handle site overlooking table bay, the house was designed so that all the rooms have a north facing view of the bay and table mountain in the distance. The careful placement of the two dominant forms provides an outside entertainment area sheltered from the summer south easterly winds. The entrance and vertical circulation separates the entertainment spaces from the private bedrooms. The simple architectural forms are articulated with carefully detailed timber cladding, pergolas and slatted timber eaves.
